INDIEWIRE FUTURE OF FILMMAKING SUMMIT ’24 Highlights

Updated: 11/19/24

SAGindie was excited to come aboard a meeting of filmmaking minds for the inaugural INDIEWIRE FUTURE OF FILMMAKING SUMMIT. Held at Nya West in Hollywood, on November 2, 2024, the summit brought together creators, actors, executives, and others interested in where the industry is headed. SAGindie was an event sponsor, alongside Canva, KINO, The American Pavilion, and United for Business.

SAGindie also presented the panel Turning Low-Budget Horror into Box Office Hits, a case study on the astounding success of the indie horror hit Terrifier 3, featuring Cineverse’s Brandon Hill and Yolanda Macias.

Additional programming included a keynote speech by filmmaker Sean Baker (Anora), a Pixar case study, and discussions on distribution, perfecting your pitch, and streaming strategies, among many other enlightening topics.

For those unable to attend but who still want to learn much of the valuable lessons that were shared at the Summit, IndieWire was kind enough to post videos from the event. See highlights below!
