Roles: 1 male. Filming Location: Manhattan, NY. Logline: Is true human contact possible in this fragmented, post-digital age? Late Night. Frank finishes using the bathroom and walks out into the hall. A yellow ray of light is leaking through a crack in his son's door. Strange, unexplainable sounds are coming from the room -- music and the sound of his son giggling. Frank slowly makes his way towards the door and peeks through the crack. He quickly turns away, his face contorting in disgust and shame. But he doesn't move away, and is compelled by some terrible force to look again. Inside the room, his son's naked form glides through the darkness -- illuminated only by the cold light of the computer screen. This is the story of a Father and Son who are each trapped in their own reality: one in nostalgic dreams of a lost country and manhood; the other in a digital haze of video-games and sex. In a series of scenes, we see the mysterious inner life of both of these characters as they slip further and further into the world of their own dreams -- before a world-shattering night forces them to confront the reality of their own existence. A psychological and emotional portrait of a young boy driven to search for meaning through online sex. An exploration of the possibility of genuine contact in an age of alienation and a statement on the darkness hidden within the depths of the American dream.
