Tim,

Thanks for writing. It's nice to know someone actually looks at this thing.

I was serious... those really were my favorite films... and not the only ones I saw... but I have to admit that because I go to so many film festivals, I generally try to see movies that I probably won't see somewhere else.

As for The Descent, no one talked about it because 1) It's a genre film, and everyone ignores them because they aren't "high-brow," and, 2) it was a midnight movie, and everyone (except the young people... and me) ignores them because they're trying to get into a party or they're asleep.

Then again, maybe I just have funky tastes. My two favorite films last year (not at Sundance) were hardly seen by anyone. One was only released briefly in the US and the other is still looking for distribution: La Meglio Gioventù and Four Eyed Monsters.

Check them all out if you get the chance.

And thanks again for your comments. I really appreciate it.

PB

THOSE were your favorites? Really? Or were they also the only films you saw?
I don't mean to be a jerk - I truly can't believe those were your favorite films... Out of all the talk at Sundance, I didn't once hear anyone else mention The Descent.

Other than that, good to have some writing here again. Keep it up.
