The annual NBCUniversal Short Film Festival is currently accepting submissions. The festival celebrates innovative storytelling from diverse voices, and seeks the next generation of writers, directors, producers, and actors.

The short film fest helps filmmakers and performers from diverse backgrounds get their work in front of key decision makers from the entire NBCUniversal family as well as agents, managers, producers, and other industry professionals.

NBCUniversal Short Film Fest accepts short films (between 2 and 20 minutes) in the following categories:

  • Comedy Short Films
  • Drama Short Films
  • Pilot Presentations
  • Webseries Episodes

All shorts must feature a diverse production team, cast, or theme (including women, ethnic/cultural diversity, the LGBTQ community, military veterans, senior citizens, and people with disabilities).

Festival partners include SAGindie, SAG-AFTRA, NBC, Universal Pictures, Xfinity, NBC Universo, Hulu, E!, USA Network, Syfy, Bravo, Focus Features, Oxygen, Telemundo, Esquire Network, Chiller, Panavision, Fandango, Film Independent, The Hollywood Reporter, The Groundlings, The Second City, Upright Citizens Brigade, Producers Guild of America, Writers Guild of America, Directors Guild of America, Keldof, and Comcast.
